Picture Story Addition and Subtraction Problems
Story problems can be a sticking point, even when a child can count objects out loud. The words, the pictures, and the math sign all have to make sense together, which can feel like a lot at the kitchen table or during a busy small-group lesson.

Children look at the pictures, decide whether to add or subtract, count carefully, and write the answer for each story question.
