The Whizki Learning Library Maze Adventures Worksheet is a printable maze activity for kindergarten and first grade learners, especially children around age 7 and up. Children follow broad colored paths from a named library character to a pictured destination while practicing visual tracking, route planning, and simple problem solving.
First graders are ready for longer paths, but seven-year-olds can still get frustrated when a maze has too many choices at once. Maze work helps children slow down, look ahead, notice dead ends, and try a new route without needing a long lesson.
A parent or teacher can sit beside the child and ask the child to point to the starting character before using a pencil. After the child traces a possible path in the air, the child can draw the route through the circular space scene, triangular castle scene, or honeycomb garden scene and name the goal at the end.
