A Thoughtful Snack for Someone Who Cares
Talking about care can get surprisingly tricky with young kids. They may know that Grandma, Dad, a teacher, or another trusted person helps them, but they do not always know how to say thank you or notice what that person might enjoy.
On this printable page, children look at a friendly kitchen table scene with an elephant pointing to the activity space. They draw a snack on the plate for someone who cares for them, then explain why they chose that snack. The work builds social awareness, drawing confidence, oral language, and early perspective-taking.
Start by asking, “Who takes care of you in little or big ways?” Let your child choose one person, then give them crayons or a pencil to draw the snack. After they draw, invite one simple sentence: “I picked this because…” You can write their words beside the picture if they are not writing independently yet.
