Ask questions about a family tradition. The worksheet practices this skill by having the child interview someone who cares for them about a repeated activity.

Identify people who take part in a shared activity. The child draws the participants on the left album page after listening to the caregiver’s answer.

Connect a tradition to a specific place. The page asks the child to draw where the activity happens on the right album page.

Who Shares Our Tradition? Interview and Draw

Family traditions can be hard to explain to young kids, especially when a child says, “I don’t know,” or draws the first random thing that pops into mind. This page gives you a simple next step: ask one caring adult a real question, then turn the answer into a drawing.

On this printable worksheet, children interview someone who cares for them about an activity their family enjoys repeating. After listening, they draw the people who take part on the left album page and the place where it happens on the right album page. A friendly beaver character adds warmth while the child practices listening, remembering, drawing, and talking about community life.

Use it at the kitchen table, in a small group, or as a take-home activity. Read the story prompt aloud, help the child choose one person to ask, and jot down a few words if needed. Then invite the child to use crayons or pencils to show who was there and where the activity happened.

This worksheet belongs to the Whizki Learning Plus set, “Kindergarten Social Studies Adventures.” The set explores everyday Social Studies through illustrated Kindergarten activities, conversation, and drawing, so children can connect big ideas like culture, place, and belonging to familiar people and routines.

Keep the session short and warm. Spend two minutes asking, three to five minutes drawing, and one minute sharing: “Tell how these people help make the activity special.” If attention fades, finish one album page now and the other later.
