Tell Me About Our Tradition Interview Page

If “family tradition” sounds like a big grown-up idea, you are not alone. Many parents and teachers worry that a child will think traditions only mean fancy events, matching outfits, or a special celebration. This page starts smaller, with one repeatable activity a child can actually talk about.

On the worksheet, children meet a friendly beaver beside an open album. They ask someone who cares for them, “What is something we enjoy doing again and again?” Then they draw that activity in the album space and tell who takes part. The page builds listening, oral language, social studies vocabulary, memory, and fine-motor control through drawing.

Use it as a short interview. Read the definition aloud: a tradition is something people pass along or do again over time. Give your child one simple example from your home, then let them ask the printed question. If needed, jot a few adult words near the drawing so the child’s idea is remembered later.

This printable belongs to Kindergarten Social Studies Adventures, a Whizki Plus set from Whizki Learning. The set explores everyday social studies through illustrated scenes, conversation, and drawing, so children can connect big ideas like culture, community, and family roles to their own lives.

Keep the session light. One question, one drawing, and one follow-up, “Why is this activity special to you?” is enough. If your child gets stuck, offer two choices and let them pick which recurring activity to draw.
