Category Matching Picture Puzzle Worksheet
The category matching picture puzzle worksheet has four picture-based logic puzzles. Each puzzle asks a child to match one large picture with one of four smaller pictures from the same group or with a shared use, practicing category matching without reading.
At age 4, children are learning that objects can belong together because of what the objects are or how the objects are used. Four-year-olds also get bored fast when a page feels like a test, so the simple picture choices keep the thinking short, clear, and doable.
Sit beside the child and name the large picture first. Point to each smaller picture, ask which smaller picture goes with the big picture and why, then let the child circle, color, or place a small marker on the best match.
