Category Matching Picture Puzzle Worksheet

Category Matching Picture Puzzle Worksheet gives kindergarten children four picture-based logical connection puzzles. Each puzzle asks a child to look at one large picture, study four smaller pictures, and choose the smaller picture from the same group or with the same use, so the page practices category matching without reading.

At age six, children are learning that objects can belong together for a reason, such as food, tools, clothing, or things used in the same place. Kids often stall when two pictures look interesting, so naming the reason aloud helps the child slow down and compare details.

Sit beside the child and cover three of the smaller pictures with a hand or sticky note if the full row feels busy. Ask what the big picture is used for and which small picture goes with the same group, then let the child point, circle, or draw a line to the match.

The worksheet keeps the work visual and focused, with only four choices for each large picture and no reading step in the way. The four separate puzzles make the page short enough for shared table time, quick morning work, or a calm off-screen choice after a busy day.
