Ice Cream Scoops Color by Code Worksheet
The Count and Color the Scoops worksheet is a one-page preschool math color by code activity. Children count the dots on each ice cream scoop, match the total to the color key, and build counting and number sense as the picture fills in.
At age four, many children are still learning that the last number counted tells how many dots are in the set. Four-year-olds can also get bored fast when every problem looks the same, so the ice cream shop picture keeps the counting practice short, playful, and easy to return to.
Sit beside the child and start with one scoop. Ask the child to touch each dot while counting out loud, find the matching number or color in the key, and color only that scoop before moving to the next scoop.
