Pint Comparison Measurement Worksheet
The pint comparison measurement worksheet gives 1st graders four picture-based problems that use measurements labeled in pt. Children compare two saved quantities and decide whether the first amount is greater than, less than, or equal to the second amount.
At age 7, many children can count well but still get stuck when a number has a unit beside the number. Pint comparisons help children connect math to real measuring language, while giving practice with careful reading instead of quick guessing.
A parent or teacher can sit beside the child, point to one problem at a time, and ask, “Which amount is larger?” or “Are the amounts the same?” After the child answers, invite the child to say the full comparison aloud using pints, such as “four pints is greater than two pints.”
The illustrations show rulers, scales, or measuring containers that match the printed quantities, so the pictures support the comparison without asking children to measure real objects. The pictures are models, not life-size measuring tools, which keeps the focus on reading the numbers, checking the pt unit, and comparing the amounts.
