Pint Measurement Subtraction Worksheet

The printable measurement worksheet gives kindergarten learners four short subtraction problems using quantities labeled in pt. Each problem pairs a number sentence with an illustrated ruler, scale, or measuring container so children practice pint subtraction and unit comparison on one page.

At age six, many children can subtract small numbers but stall when a unit label changes the feel of the problem. Pint problems help children notice that numbers can describe amounts, and comparing amounts supports later work with measurement, recipes, and real containers.

Sit with your child or small group, read one problem aloud, and point to the matching picture before any writing starts. Ask, "How many pints were there first?" and "How many pints were taken away?" Then let the child write the remaining amount and say the answer with the word pints.

Instead of a plain row of equations, the page shows matching measurement pictures for each problem amount. The pictures are models, not life-size measuring tools, so the worksheet works best as guided pencil-and-paper practice before or after hands-on measuring with a cup or container.
