Some and Any Dialogue Worksheet

The Some and Any Dialogue Worksheet is a first grade reading and writing page called Do We Have It? Children read short partner conversations and write some or any in each blank. The page practices using any in questions, some in yes answers, and any in no answers.

At age six, many children can hear a sentence that sounds right before children can explain the grammar rule. Kids also stall when two small words look simple but act differently in a sentence. Short dialogue practice helps first graders connect grammar choices to real speaking patterns.

Sit with your child and choose parts for each conversation, such as Pip and Poppy or Mia and Max. Read the first line aloud, let your child fill the blank, then switch voices for the answer. After the three conversations, use the writing prompt to ask about something needed at home, such as cups, pencils, or water.

The worksheet stays useful because each blank lives inside a quick conversation, not a random sentence list. The two-word bank keeps the task focused, while partner reading gives children a reason to listen for meaning. The answer key also makes the page easy to check together without turning practice into a long lesson.
