Circle Counting and Drawing Worksheet
The circle counting and drawing worksheet gives a preschooler one group of circles to count, then asks the child to draw two new groups of circles. Each drawing stays within 10 circles, so the page practices one-to-one counting, number names, and making a matching set by hand.
At 4 years old, many children can chant numbers before each number feels connected to an amount. Kids stall when a counted set has to become a new drawing, especially near 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Small circle groups keep number sense visible and easier to talk through.
Sit beside the child and start with the printed circle group. Ask the child to touch each circle while counting aloud, say the total, then draw the first requested circle group and the second requested circle group. After each drawing, count the new circles together and add or erase circles if the number does not match.
