Count and Draw Circles Worksheet

Kids often stall when counting turns into making a set on paper. On this kindergarten math page, they count one group first, then draw two requested groups of circles. Each drawing stays within 10 circles, so the work feels reachable while still asking for careful counting and number sense.

This is a good fit when a child can count small sets but may skip an object, count the same one twice, or keep drawing after reaching the number. The page turns counting into a hands-on check: say one number for each item, stop at the last one, and make a new group that matches the requested amount.

Sit nearby with a pencil or crayon ready. Invite your child to touch or point to each circle in the first group while counting aloud. For the drawing parts, have them make circles one at a time and count after each one. If the total is off, try crossing out or adding circles together rather than starting over right away.

For a next step, use animal counting with number choices to practice choosing the matching numeral after counting a set. When drawing amounts feels steady, matching numerals and number words helps connect the same quantities to written number forms.
