Pounds Addition Measurement Worksheet
The pounds addition measurement worksheet gives first graders four addition problems using lb labels. Each problem pairs a written weight with a picture model, so children practice adding pound measurements while keeping the unit attached to the answer.
At age 6, many children can count on or add small numbers, but units can slip away fast. A child may write the sum correctly and leave off “lb,” so the worksheet keeps the focus on number plus unit without adding a long page of busy work.
A parent or teacher can sit beside the child and read one problem aloud, then ask, “What are we adding, and what unit will the answer use?” After the child writes the answer, the adult can point back to the picture and the lb label to check that the number and unit match.
The illustrated rulers, scales, or measuring containers give each problem a measurement feel instead of a plain list of sums. The pictures are models and are not life-size measuring tools, which makes the page useful for math practice without needing real equipment at the table.
