Count and Choose the Number, Counting to 10

When a child is almost counting on their own, the tricky part is slowing down enough to match each object to one number. At home or in a busy kindergarten center, it is easy for counting to turn into guessing, especially when several answer choices are waiting on the page.

On this one-page printable, children work through three counting rows. In each row, they count a group of pictures, then choose the matching numeral from four number choices. The counts stay within 10, so kids practice one-to-one counting, number recognition, and careful checking. A short premium prompt asks children to compare two numbers and write the greater number, followed by a reflection that invites them to explain how they found the answer.
