The Tens and Ones Number Cards Worksheet is a one-page first grade math printable that practices place value with teen numbers. Each number card shows 19, 13, 18, or 14 and gives writing fields for the number of tens and ones.
At age seven, many children can count forward but still stall when a teen number has to be split apart. Practicing one ten and some ones helps a first grader see why 19 means 1 ten and 9 ones, not two separate digits.
Sit beside your child and read one number card aloud, then ask your child to point to the tens field before writing the ones field. After all four cards are complete, have your child say each full sentence, such as 13 has 1 ten and 3 ones.
