Community Helpers Worksheet

Five-year-olds can remember a helper during play and then blank when it is time to answer on paper. This printable gives you a simple way to slow the task down, look at each part together, and talk about community helpers in everyday language.

Follow the directions printed on the page, then pause at each community helper item before moving on. Read any words or prompts aloud if needed, invite your child to name the helper or explain the job, and accept pointing or a spoken answer when writing feels like too much.

The practice here is social studies vocabulary. Children connect people in a community with the work they do, using the page as a shared talking tool. If your child stalls, ask one small question such as, “What does this helper do?” or “Where might we see this person?”

When the page is finished, keep the idea going with a quick real-life connection, like naming helpers you notice on a walk or during errands. For more practice with the same theme, try another community helpers worksheet while the vocabulary is still fresh, or save this community helpers practice page for a later review without switching topics.
