Maze Problem Solving Worksheet

The Maze Problem Solving Worksheet is a printable logic activity for 1st grade learners. The page practices maze navigation, planning ahead, and choosing a path with care instead of guessing.

At age 6, children are still learning how to pause, check choices, and fix mistakes without feeling stuck. Many first graders race through a maze, hit a dead end, and feel frustrated fast, so a short puzzle gives the child a safe way to practice trying again.

Sit beside the child and ask the child to point to the start and finish before using a pencil. Invite the child to trace a possible path with a finger first, then mark the route slowly, and use a gentle question like, “Where could the path go next?” when the maze reaches a turn.

The worksheet keeps the focus on one clear challenge, so the child can work without extra clutter or long directions. The maze format turns problem solving into hands-on parent-child time, with enough structure for practice and enough playfulness to keep a six-year-old interested.
