Picture Addition and Subtraction Worksheet for Preschool
This picture worksheet practices addition by asking the child to add two groups of objects and count the total, using pictures instead of digits.
At age 5, counting objects helps children make sense of amounts, but five-year-olds can get bored fast when math feels paper-only. Short, hands-on counting keeps the work from dragging.
For one round, point to the first picture group and count together. Point to the second group, count those objects, then count all objects in one sweep to find the total. Keep it light, and add a quick subtraction thought by asking, “If one group moved away, how many would be left?”
The worksheet is useful because each answer comes from counting what is shown, so a parent can easily check understanding. Picture groups also give the child a chance to try counting all or counting on, and Whizki Learning printables make repetition simple at home or in a classroom.
