Preschoolers Vocabulary Numbering Worksheet
This Preschoolers worksheet practices vocabulary numbering. Children write a picture number next to a word, and then write the matching word for a given number.
This matters at age three because kids are still learning how print connects to speech. When kids stall on letter shapes, picture-based matching helps them focus on one simple task at a time.
Pick two rows and do them together. First, point to the picture column and say the word. Then help the child write the matching number beside the word, and switch to the rows where a number is shown and the child writes the matching word.
This page is useful because it practices both directions, word-to-number and number-to-word, on the same sheet. It feels different from a generic printable because the pictures guide the meaning before the pencil work gets tricky.
