Where Are the Shapes? is a one-page kindergarten math worksheet for shape recognition and position words. Children look at one shared board of six shapes, then write the shape that is above, right of, or left of a named shape.
At age 6, many children can name a circle or square in isolation, then stall when the shape sits in a busy board with other shapes nearby. Practice with above, right of, and left of helps children slow down, scan the board, and match each word to a real place.
Use the page side by side. Ask your child to point to the reference shape first, such as the hexagon or oval, then trace the direction with a finger before writing the answer shape in the field.
