Where Are the Shapes? Worksheet

The Where Are the Shapes? worksheet is a one-page kindergarten math printable for shape recognition and position words. A child looks at one shared six-shape board, then writes the shape that is below the square, below the circle, right of the rectangle, and left of the circle.

At age six, many children know a circle or square by sight, but careful scanning across a page can still feel slow. Five-year-olds and six-year-olds also get bored fast when every problem looks brand new, so one steady board helps a child focus on the clue instead of starting over each time.

A parent or teacher can sit beside the child, point to the first prompt, and say, “Find the square. Now look below the square. What shape is there?” After the child answers, the child writes the shape name in the field, then repeats the same steps for the circle and rectangle clues.

The worksheet is useful because every question refers to the same board. That design gives practice with left, right, and below without extra clutter, and the writing fields add a small naming-and-spelling step that a generic matching page may skip.
