Community Helpers Worksheet

The Community Helpers Worksheet is a preschool social studies page for naming familiar helpers and connecting each helper with a simple job. The page gives 3-year-olds picture-based practice with community helper vocabulary, such as knowing that a firefighter helps with fires or a doctor helps people feel better.

At age 3, children are starting to notice people who help in daily life, yet many helper names still sound alike. A preschooler may call every uniform “police” or every medical worker “doctor,” so a short page with clear pictures gives the child a calm way to sort those ideas.

Sit beside your child and look at one helper picture at a time. Say the helper name, ask a simple question like “What does a mail carrier bring?” and let your child point, answer aloud, and complete the item on the worksheet before moving to the next picture.

The worksheet keeps the task short, visual, and easy to share during a few quiet minutes. Instead of a long lesson, the page gives one friendly focus, who helps in our community, with room for real talk about people your child sees at school, at the store, on the street, or at the doctor’s office.
