Count and Draw Circles Worksheet

The Count and Draw Circles worksheet asks a first grader to count one circle group, then draw two new groups with the requested number of circles. The page practices counting up to 10, matching a number to a set, and drawing one circle for each count.

At age 6, many children can say numbers quickly, but pencil work can reveal skipped counts or extra circles. Six-year-olds also get bored fast when counting feels like a drill, so a short draw-and-count task keeps number sense concrete.

Sit beside your child and read the first prompt together. Let your child touch each circle in the group while counting aloud, then pause before your child draws the two requested circle groups. After each group is drawn, ask your child to tap the circles and check the count.

The page stays simple on purpose: one counted group and two drawing spaces, with no pictures to sort through and no numbers above 10. The clear circle format makes mistakes easy to spot, erase, and fix during shared practice at home or in class.
