Read the vocabulary aloud together before searching, especially when a word is unfamiliar. Talk briefly about what each word means in the seasonal context, then return to its written form. This task practices locating and comparing letter sequences; a child does not need to read every filler letter as a word. After finding a target, trace its spelling again and check the corresponding box so it is not searched for twice.
