Make Ten Ten-Frame Worksheet

Kids often understand counting before they feel steady with addition facts. This printable gives one clear page of make ten practice with ten-frames and writing fields. The three problems show 7 and 3, 3 and 7, and 9 and 1, each making a total of 10.

This is a good fit when a child can count to 10 and is beginning to connect two parts with one total. The ten-frame helps make the number 10 visible, so the work is not just memorizing. If the page feels too quick, you can pause on each model and ask, “What part do you see first? What part finishes the 10?”

Work side by side and keep the pace easy. Have your child look at the ten-frame, read the two parts, and write the matching numbers in the fields. Say the full addition sentence out loud together, such as “7 plus 3 makes 10,” then compare it with “3 plus 7 makes 10” to notice that the same two parts can be shown in a different order.

For a next step, use little math stories to connect number facts with short situations. If your child needs more visual quantity practice before returning to addition, bigger, smaller, or equal groups helps with looking carefully at amounts and comparing what is seen.
