Make Ten Ten-Frame Worksheet

Kids often stall when addition moves from loose counting to written number facts. This page keeps the job small and visible. Your child looks at each ten-frame, sees two parts, and writes the make-ten combination for 4 and 6, 3 and 7, and 6 and 4.

This is a good fit when a kindergartner can count to 10, recognize small groups with some support, and write or copy numerals. The ten-frame gives a steady place to look, so the number 10 is not just a spoken answer. It becomes a full frame with two parts inside it.

The practice is simple and hands-on. Ask, “How many are in the first part?” then, “How many more fill the frame?” Have your child touch and count if needed, then write the numbers in the fields. The goal is make ten thinking, with three specific combinations shown clearly instead of a long mixed page.

If your child finishes quickly, read the facts back together and compare 4 and 6 with 6 and 4. For another visual make-ten page, try the Make Ten Ten-Frame Worksheet next. When the frame feels comfortable, the Little Math Stories Addition and Subtraction Worksheet can help connect number facts to short story problems.
