Pint Addition Measurement Worksheet

Measurement abbreviations can trip kids up because they look small, but they matter. This page gives your kindergartener four addition problems labeled pt, with picture models showing the saved quantities. The pictures help start the conversation, but they are models, not life-size rulers, scales, or measuring containers.

This is a good fit when a child can count on, write simple sums, and stay with a short page of four problems. Sit side by side and read the unit as “pint” before adding. That small habit keeps the work about measurement, not just plain numbers.

For each problem, have them read the first amount, read the second amount, add the numbers, and write the total with pt. If they rush, cover the answer space and ask, “What are we adding, and what unit stays with the answer?” A finger tap under each number can slow the work without turning it into a lecture.

After this page, choose one nearby measurement idea instead of piling on more of the same. If comparison is the next step, the kilogram comparison worksheet gives practice deciding which measured amount is larger or smaller. If subtraction with measurement labels is a better follow-up, the pound subtraction measurement worksheet helps children take away labeled amounts while still tracking the unit.
