Where Are the Shapes? is a one-page kindergarten math worksheet for shape recognition and position words. Children look at the same six-shape board, find shapes by location, and write answers such as rectangle, circle, hexagon, and triangle.
At age six, children are still connecting shape names with direction words during real tasks. A child may recognize an oval quickly, then get stuck when a prompt says left of, right of, or below because the child has to hold two ideas at once.
A parent or teacher can sit beside the child and read one prompt at a time. Ask the child to point to the reference shape first, trace a finger left, right, or down on the board, say the answer aloud, and then write the shape name in the field.
The worksheet stays focused on one shared board instead of giving a new picture for every question. That repeated board helps children compare positions carefully, build confidence with direction words, and practice writing shape names without extra visual clutter.
