Where Are the Shapes? Shape Position Worksheet

The Where Are the Shapes? worksheet is a one-page kindergarten math printable with a six-shape board, clear learning models, and writing fields. The page practices shape recognition and position words as children find the shape below a rectangle, above a triangle, below a circle, and left of a rectangle.

At age five, shape names can feel familiar until a direction word gets added. Many children can spot a circle but stall when a question asks for the shape above or below another shape, so the worksheet keeps the board small and the task focused.

Sit beside the child, point to the rectangle, triangle, or circle named in the prompt, and say the position word out loud. After the child finds the matching oval, square, hexagon, or other shape, have the child write the answer in the field.

The saved layout uses the same six-shape board for every question, which cuts down on page clutter and helps children compare locations instead of hunting through random pictures. The side-by-side format also makes the worksheet easy to use at a kitchen table, math center, or quick review time.
