The Where Are the Shapes? worksheet is a one-page math printable for 1st grade shape recognition. Children use one shared six-shape board to answer clues about a square, circle, oval, and hexagon while practicing above, below, left of, and right of.
At age six, many children can name shapes during a quick review, then stall when a direction word gets added. Shape work with position language helps first graders slow down, look carefully, and connect math words to a real spot on the page.
