Count and Draw Circles Worksheet

Kids often stall when counting moves from saying numbers to making a set on paper. This worksheet keeps the job clear: count one group of circles, then draw two requested groups of circles, with each drawing staying at ten circles or fewer.

The practice is simple, but it asks for careful thinking. As children touch or point to each circle, they use one-to-one counting. When they draw a new group, they connect the number they hear or read with the exact quantity they need to make.

Sit nearby and invite a slow count before any drawing starts. If a circle gets skipped or counted twice, point back to the first circle and say, “Let’s try that row again.” For the drawing parts, a light tap for each circle can help keep the count steady without taking over the pencil.

When this feels comfortable, try a nearby number sense page that changes the task just a little. The missing numbers worksheet helps children think about number order, while the next whole number worksheet gives practice naming what comes after a number.
