Feet Comparison Measurement Worksheet

Measurement comparisons can feel fussy for first graders, especially when the number and the unit both matter. This page keeps the work small and clear with four comparison problems in ft. Each problem uses a picture model that matches the saved quantities, so your child has something concrete to look at while deciding how the two measurements compare.

This is a good fit for a 7-year-old who can read simple numbers and is beginning to notice measurement units. The pictures are helpful guides, but they are models, not life-size rulers, scales, or measuring containers. That matters because the goal is to compare the written feet measurements, not to measure the printed picture with a ruler.

Sit nearby for the first problem and ask, “What unit do you see?” Then have them read both values aloud with the word “feet.” From there, compare the numbers and decide which amount is greater, which is less, or whether they are the same. If they rush, cover one problem at a time with a blank sheet of paper and talk through the two sides before they write the answer.

After the four problems are finished, use the page for a quick check-in. Ask your child to explain one answer in their own words, such as “six feet is more than four feet.” If comparing feet feels steady, a next measurement step could be adding weights with this pounds addition measurement page, or getting a little more practice with another pounds addition measurement worksheet so they keep reading units carefully.
