Make Ten Ten Frame Worksheet

The Make Ten Ten Frame Worksheet is a one-page math printable for first grade addition practice. The worksheet uses clear ten frames and writing fields to show three ways to make ten: five and five, seven and three, and eight and two.

Seven-year-olds often know some addition facts by memory, then freeze when a problem looks new. Making ten matters at this age because first graders start using ten as a friendly number for faster, steadier addition and subtraction thinking.

A parent or teacher can sit beside the child and point to the filled boxes in each ten frame. Ask, “How many are filled, how many are empty, and how many altogether?” Then have the child say the number sentence aloud before writing the missing parts in the fields.

The worksheet keeps the practice small and focused, so the child is not facing a crowded page of random facts. Each model shows the same total of ten in a slightly different way, which helps the child notice number partners instead of counting every box from the beginning.
