Number Cards Counting Worksheet

The number cards counting worksheet gives first graders a focused way to read and name selected numbers from 1 to 20. The page includes 8, 10, 7, 5, 4, 19, 6, 14, 20, and 15, so children practice recognizing numerals, saying number names, and connecting spoken counting to printed numbers.

At age seven, many children can count out loud but still stall when a numeral appears out of order. Number sense grows when a child sees a number, says the number name, and thinks about where the number belongs in the counting sequence.

A parent or teacher can sit beside the child and read each number card together. Try saying, “Point to fourteen,” “Find the number that comes after nineteen,” or “Which number is smaller, five or eight?” Keep the pace light, and stop while the child still feels steady.

The worksheet is useful because the page is a selected practice set, not a crowded complete 1 to 20 chart. Fewer cards help the child slow down, notice the shapes of tricky teen numbers, and build confidence through a short screen-free math moment.
