Number Words 4, 9, 11, 12, 18 Worksheet

The Number Words 4, 9, 11, 12, 18 Worksheet gives first graders five number words to read: four, nine, eleven, twelve, and eighteen. Children write the matching numeral in a large box, building number word recognition and number sense from 1 to 20 without using a full chart.

At age 6, many children can count aloud, but kids often stall when a written word like eleven does not look like the numeral 11. A short page helps a child connect spoken counting, printed words, and numerals before bigger addition and subtraction work asks for quick recognition.

Sit with your child and read the first number word together, then have your child say the word, count on fingers if helpful, and write the numeral in the box. Cover the other items with a scrap of paper if the page feels busy, then uncover one word at a time.

Unlike a generic 1 to 20 chart, the worksheet focuses on a small mixed set, 4, 9, 11, 12, and 18, so guessing from order is harder. The large writing spaces give room for careful numeral formation, and the selected set includes both single-digit and teen numbers for a quick, focused practice session.
