Number Cards Reading Worksheet

Six-year-olds often know number words in a song, then pause when the printed numeral is sitting by itself. This kindergarten math page gives you a small set of number cards to read together: 3, 2, 4, 6, 1, and 7.

Use it when your child is ready to look at one card at a time and say the number name with you. Because this is a selected set, not a full 1 to 10 chart, the focus stays on recognizing these six numerals without rushing through every number.

Point to each card, read the numeral aloud, and let your child repeat or try first. If a number is tricky, name it calmly, look at its shape, and come back to it after another card. The practice is simple: see the numeral, say the number name, and keep the pace comfortable.

For a next step, use missing number practice when your child is ready to think about order. To connect numerals with counted groups, try counting animals and circling totals after this quick number-card read.
