Counting Circles Worksheet

Three-year-olds often know the counting song before they can keep one finger on one object. This page slows the work down. Together, you count one group of circles, then draw two requested groups of circles, with no drawing group asking for more than 10 circles.

This is a good fit when a preschooler can sit for a short crayon task, point to objects, and try count words with you. If the number request feels big, cover one drawing space and do just one part first. The goal is careful counting, not pretty circles.

The practice is simple and hands-on. Have your child touch each circle while counting, then draw circles one at a time and recount the new group. That connects the spoken count to a real quantity on the page. If they enjoy this format, the Count and Draw Circles Worksheet gives another round of circle drawing with the same clear action.

Stay close and use a calm check: "Let's count what you made." If there are too few or too many, invite one small fix instead of starting over. For a next step with number names and small quantities, try the Numbers Two, Five, and Three Worksheet, which keeps the math focused and familiar.
