Numbers One, Two, and Four Worksheet

Kids often stall when a written number does not look the way they expected. This preschool math page gives you a short, friendly set of number cards to read together: 1, 2, and 4. It is not a full one to five chart. It is a focused moment with three numerals, which can feel much more doable for a four-year-old.

Sit side by side and read each card out loud. Point to the numeral, say its number name, and invite your child to say it with you. If one number is tricky, pause there and name it again. The goal is simple practice with seeing a printed numeral and hearing the matching spoken number.

This kind of page fits well when a child can listen, point, and repeat short number words. Keep it light. You might say, “Let’s find 2,” or “Show me 4,” then celebrate the pointing and naming. If your child guesses, gently say the number again and let them try once more.

When the three cards feel familiar, move from reading numerals to connecting numbers with amounts. The Animal Counting to Five Worksheet gives practice counting small groups, and the Circle Count and Draw Worksheet adds a hands-on way to show how many. Those are good next steps after reading 1, 2, and 4 on this page.
