Tens and Ones Number Cards Worksheet

Teen numbers can make five-year-olds pause, especially when twelve and thirteen do not sound as plain as one ten and two. This one-page printable shows four number cards, 15, 13, 14, and 12, with learning models and writing fields for tens and ones.

Use it when your kindergartener can count small groups and is starting to notice that teen numbers are made from ten plus more ones. If counting each object is still the hard part, try animal count and circle practice first because it keeps the work on counting one item at a time.

Work across the cards together. Read the number, point to the model, say one ten, then count the remaining ones. After that, have your child write the number of tens and ones in the fields. The repeated one-ten pattern across 12, 13, 14, and 15 keeps the task predictable without adding extra directions.

Keep the session short if attention fades. You can do two cards now and two later, or cover a finished card and ask, What did the ten part show? When these four cards feel comfortable, move to missing numbers practice to connect number sense with number order.
